The Safety Superhero Academy announces the name of its teacher training programme: Shaping Safer Futures®
The Safety Superhero Academy has today announced the name of its educator e-learning platform, Shaping Safer Futures®, formalising the identity of a programme already in development to support schools in strengthening how safety, health and wellbeing are approached across everyday teaching, alongside the national curriculum.
While elements of safety education already exist within UK schools - particularly through statutory PSHE education in England - provision and delivery vary widely in focus, confidence and consistency. Many approaches concentrate on specific risks, rather than helping children develop a broader understanding of safety as a mindset rooted in care, responsibility and everyday awareness.
Shaping Safer Futures® has been developed in response to this gap.
The programme will be delivered through a dedicated digital platform, which will be home to a growing suite of teacher e-learning courses and a curriculum-linked resources, created collaboratively with teachers and safety professional experts. Content is designed to be practical, accessible and immediately usable, supporting educators to deliver meaningful safety, health and wellbeing messages without increasing workload.
Unlike traditional approaches that position safety education as an additional responsibility, Shaping Safer Futures® is designed to integrate seamlessly into existing classroom practice, using storytelling, safety-focused language and positive role modelling to build confident, age-appropriate understanding.
A core principle of Shaping Safer Futures® is inclusion by design. Accommodations are integral to the development of all courses and resources, ensuring they are adaptable, accessible and meaningful for every learner.
Bethany Holroyd, Founder of The Safety Superhero Academy, said:
“If we want safer futures, we have to start earlier - and we have to do it properly. Shaping Safer Futures is about empowering educators with training and resources that feel realistic, inclusive and aligned with how schools actually work. Safety, health and wellbeing shouldn’t sit on the margins of learning - they should be woven confidently into it.”
Shaping Safer Futures® is currently in development, with a series of major announcements planned in the coming weeks. These will include course launches, partnerships and early access opportunities for schools and educators to take part in beta testing, helping to shape the platform ahead of wider rollout.
Educators, schools and partners are invited to sign up to be the first to receive updates and further information.
END.
