The Safety Superhero Academy® Secures Top Score in National Highways Social Enterprise Programme
The Safety Superhero Academy® is proud to announce its successful admission to the National Highways Social Enterprise Dynamic Purchasing System (SEDPS), after achieving the highest possible score in the assessment process.
The SEDPS – the first of its kind in England - is designed to open up government and supply chain contracts to social enterprises that reinvest their surpluses into communities and social impact. By joining, The Safety Superhero Academy will have the opportunity to extend its reach, delivering safety education and positive community outcomes in partnership with National Highways and beyond.
Bethany Holroyd, Founder and Director of The Safety Superhero Academy, said:
“When I first set up the Academy, my dream was simple: to get children excited about safety and to show them that it’s not a boring box-ticking exercise, but something that saves lives and opens doors to amazing careers. To now be awarded the opportunity to work with National Highways and their supply chain nationally is a huge milestone for me and for the Academy. It means we can take our mission further, reaching more children and communities across the country and showing the real difference safety education can make.”
The Safety Superhero Academy achieved 100% in the evaluation, evidencing its strong alignment with the SEDPS social value objectives, including:
Supporting education and skills development in schools
Promoting inclusion and role diversity in STEM and safety professions
Reinvesting surplus back into social mission-led initiatives
As a member of the SEDPS, The Safety Superhero Academy looks forward to collaborating with partners and suppliers to expand its reach and deliver meaningful social impact across England.
