About The Safety Superhero Academy

The Safety Superhero Academy is on a mission to make safety education engaging, interactive, and memorable for children across the UK.

We deliver workshops in schools and are developing a wider national education programme to embed safety, health, and wellbeing into everyday learning for early years settings and primary schools.

As a growing social enterprise, we work with schools and high-profile clients to deliver programmes that make a real difference. As a start-up, we value adaptability, creativity, and proactive thinking - there is real scope to contribute across the business and help shape our growth.

About the Role

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the founder on day-to-day running of the business.

You’ll help keep workshops, enquiries, and operations running smoothly, while gradually developing the skills to support - and eventually lead - sessions.

No two days will look the same. Some will be focused on admin and coordination, others on supporting delivery and being out in schools.

This role would suit someone who is proactive, organised, and confident communicating with a wide range of people, and who enjoys variety and wants to grow into an operations-focused role over time.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role is a real mix of organisation, communication, and hands-on support. You’ll be key to us building relationships and helping to create a really positive experience from first enquiry through to delivery.

Day-to-day, that might look like:

  • Managing our inbox and replying to enquiries from schools and organisations

  • Sending out workshop information and helping schools get booked in

  • Keeping the diary organised and making sure sessions and meetings are scheduled smoothly

  • Following up on enquiries or conversations with potential clients, partners and schools

  • Preparing and organising everything needed for workshops - from books and worksheets to kit bags and materials

  • Supporting on delivery days, including setting up and packing down our equipment and workshop materials.

  • Shadowing sessions and gradually building confidence to deliver workshops

  • Gathering feedback from schools/businesses after sessions and helping turn this into reports to capture impact

  • Supporting general administration tasks as required

  • Helping us keep things visible by organising basic social media content scheduling

  • Being a reliable, organised point of contact who helps keep everything moving

  • Occasionally attending and representing us at events across the UK

What We’re Looking For

  • Highly organised and naturally proactive

  • A confident and clear communicator (both written and verbal)

  • Someone who enjoys working with people and building relationships

  • Willing to learn and grow into leading workshops

  • Self-motivated and happy to roll up your sleeves - we are a start-up, so it’s all hands on deck at times!

  • Comfortable using CRMs, Social Media and Microsoft Office.

  • Someone who genuinely cares about making a difference in children’s lives

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable (but not essential)

If you don’t meet every point below, but feel the role could be a good fit, we’d still love to hear from you.

  • Experience in a classroom or education setting (a formal teaching qualification is not required)

  • Experience in admin or coordination

  • Background in VCSE, education, or social value

  • Interest in safety, health, and wellbeing

  • Enhanced DBS (this can be provided)

What We Offer

  • 140 hours holiday days per year (equivalent to 28 days), inclusive of bank holidays, pro rata based on contracted hours.

  • Employer pension contribution (3%) via Nest

  • A role that balances office-based work with hands-on delivery

  • Opportunity to be part of a growing social enterprise working with high-profile clients and partners

  • Direct involvement in unique meaningful, real-world impact

  • Full training provided, plus funding for any additional training required

  • A supportive environment where your ideas and input are genuinely valued

  • A business built around children and families - they’re at the centre of everything we do, and that’s reflected in how we support our team

  • There is a clear opportunity to grow with the business, with progression from Coordinator to Lead as the organisation develops.

Working Pattern

This role is contracted at 25 hours per week. While typical days will be 5 hours, some days may occasionally be longer due to workshops and travel. These are balanced with shorter days across the week.

We understand that life doesn’t revolve around work, so we aim to communicate schedules clearly and in advance wherever possible. We’ve designed this role to fit around real life - we understand things like the school run or caring responsibilities, and we aim to approach this with flexibility and common sense, without expecting hours to be made up late into the evening!

How to Apply

If this sounds like your kind of role, we’d love to hear from you.

Please send a short cover letter and your CV via our application form below.

We’ll review all applications and contact shortlisted candidates for next steps. If you don’t hear from us within a couple of weeks, unfortunately your application hasn’t been successful on this occasion - but we really appreciate your time and interest in joining The Safety Superhero Academy.
